Election - The festival if Democracy

My Limited experience about this great festival of democracy made me realised that for few elections are a grand event in which they elect their representatives or punish to  the non performing previously elected candidate  and for many it's time to show one's caste or community prejudices and support  blindly  to a candidate on the basis of these prejudices and biasnesses. What ever be the case, most of the people remain very excited about elections. It always puzzles me that why many voters remains so reluctant to participate in this festival of democracy. Is it  the reason that these indifferent voters don't have faith in India's electoral system or they feel that it's simply wastage of time and energy or after more than sixty five years of independence now election don't excite them any more.
Whenever the voting percentage on day of election remains low it shows not only failure of citizens but also the failure of government which failed to brings voters to the booth.Untill voting percentage in our country is not going to increase we are not going to become a true democratic country.Though compulsory votting as an option always exist but it's not a solution in our case.We need to make our governance so strengthen that every citizen feel that he has very decisive role in development of the country .The day every voter realize that it's his duty to cast vote and when he stands on booth by shunning his all caste, community or religious biasness and votes for India's development, the dream of developed India will be realised.
